I particulary like as well that it believed we are the same in ability. I like the outlook that what the human wants is not what he will get because we are all going for the same thing...

I like how you mention there is a set of enforcers. I left that out of my summary of the social contract. I did mention we give our rights to the enforcer but forgot how important it is to have a powerful team of people to follow through with set guidelines...

I'm curious as to why you say that "not everyone is capable" of acting in a certain way. Exactly what "ways" do you mean? How does this relate to the idea of self-interest that you mention in the previous sentence?

I DON'T BELIEVE KANT TELLS US TO WILL ANYTHING IMMORAL INTO LAW. I BELIEVE KANT IS HELPING US DETERMINE WHAT ACTIONS ARE MORAL IF THEY WORK ALL THE TIME. IF THESE ACTIONS DON'T ALWAYS WORK THAN CI TELLS US HOW TO ACT.

Yes, in this case, the maxim cannot be willed into universal law. Where there are no promises, the maxim doesn't work. If a person borrows money from you one time and doesn't pay it back, the second time this situation comes up, you will not lend the person money.

I guess the only real way in which both Mill and Kant can agree would be whenever a good action turns out to be good. This way they are both satisfied as the purpose has met its objective.

Do you think it would make a difference if there was no one who loved JoJo? Indeed, imagine that everyone in the world hated him, and that JoJo wanted to keep living, but only just barely. Do these changes in the example make it OK to kill JoJo?

I think the first theory is important because is shows the gratification of higher priorities, and the act can be consider as right or wrong. I aslo agree with Mill's statement that lie can be lethal to society, when taking into consideration that society is based on agreement between poeple who expect others to be honest.
